My Scream retrospective “Everybody is Still a Suspect: A Look Back at Scream” kicked off with Scream 4. I personally believe the fourth entry surprised fans with how strong it wound up given what usually happens when horror franchises milk their serial killer and dumb teen characters. Scream 4 saw a return to Woodsboro, shocking kills, the return of favorite characters, and of course, offered up an ultra meta commentary on the horror genre in a post-Scream world.
