If you’re a Star Wars fan, that probably means you’ve been paying a close eye on the Star Wars Celebration currently happening in Chicago. It’s here where Kathleen Kennedy and Lucas Film are unveiling new insights into the variety of Star Wars projects in development. One of which, is the long anticipated, Episode IX. We now have a title “The Rise of Skywalker” and teaser trailer for the new film as, it all comes down to this as the journey with Rey, Finn, Poe come to an end against Kylo Ren.
I am still a massive fan of what writer/director Rian Johnson brought to Episode VIII, The Last Jedi, but Episode IX is back under the vision of J.J. Abrams who directed, Episode VII, The Force Awakens. Abrams has written the new film with Chris Terrio. Rumors have been flying fast and loose as fans have clamored for any snippets of information for other Star Wars source to figure out what may happen. I’m curious as to what role Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker will play given that he “died” at the end of the last one. The same goes for Carrie Fischer’s General Leia Organa. It’s been reported that Abrams is using old footage of Fisher to complete her story.
The trailer is just what I wanted. It gives absolutely nothing away, poses questions, and is leaving me giddy with all sorts of anticipation. Here it is:
