The 2016 Cecil B. DeMille Awards will be presented to Denzel Washington

The SAG Award nominations were announced yesterday, and there’s a bit of a crossover here with films like Trumbo and The Big Short continuing to gain momentum. I am excited to see Mad Max Fury Road coming in strong in top categories. It was one of my favorites from this summer. Carol is also getting some well-deserved attention for Todd Haynes and stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. Speaking of Mara, we’re seeing a category shift from the SAGs as she is nominated in the lead actress category for the GGs. Same goes for Alicia Vikander for her role in The Danish Girl. I still don’t feel like I have a clear picture of how the Oscars nominations will land, but we still have plenty of time before those are announced.

Make sure to tune in to NBC on Sunday, January 10, 2016 to hear the winners and see what crazy antics Ricky Gervais will be up to as host. I can’t wait to hear which celebrities he slays.
