THE 25th SAG AWARDS – THE WINNERS

Here are the winners for The 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards. The only big surprise of the night was for Emily Blunt for Best Supporting Actress. She won for her fearless work in A Quiet Place, but the big front runner in this category for the Oscars is Regina King for If Beale Street Could Talk. King did not get the SAG nomination.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture

Black Panther
Angela Bassett
Chadwick Boseman
Sterling K. Brown
Winston Duke
Martin Freeman
Danai Gurira
Michael B. Jordan
Daniel Kaluuya
Lupita Nyong’o
Andy Serkis
Forest Whitaker
Letitia Wright

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role:
Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role:
Glenn Close, The Wife

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role:
Mahershala Ali, Green Book

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
Emily Blunt, A Quiet Place

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
Black Panther

The winners tonight are usually a good indicator of who goes home to win the Oscar as there is a good crossover between the SAG-AFTRA actors voting tonight who are also members of the Academy. I’m pretty confident of Glenn and Mahershala winning. I think the Oscar for Best Actor is still up in the air. We shall see February 24th!

Alan Alda was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award.
