TWIN CITIES FILM FEST – CELEBRATING TEN YEARS

I’ve been attending the Twin Cities Film Fest for many years now, and they have truly outdone themselves in honor of their 10th anniversary. If you’re looking to score tickets to films with early Oscar buzz, get thee to TCFF as they will be showcasing: Jojo Rabbit, Marriage Story, Waves, Honeyboy, and A Hidden Life just to name a few.

Let’s talk opening night. Mark off the entire evening as you’ll want to partake in the festivities. Starting the night at 6:00 is Jojo Rabbit, which just won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Last year’s winner, Green Book, also opened TCFF and went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture. The official opening night film starts at 8:30 with Robert Jury’s Working Man starring Peter Gerety (The Wire) and Talia Shire (The Godfather trilogy, Rocky) both of whom will be in attendance for opening night.

One of the things I love about the mission of TCFF is that they offer a diverse lineup so there is truly something for everyone whether it’s documentaries, Minnesota-made films, short films, horror films, family friendly, independents, and big studio features. Last year I got to interview Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Kendall Goldberg for their film When Jeff Tried to Save the World. The festival circuit is perfect for that film in order to be seen and financed to eventually make it on a streaming platform. I’ve seen a wide variety of exceptional films and a few duds along the way, which is the joy of testing out what’s on the roster on any given day.

Check out there website HERE for more information, show times, passes, and more –it runs October 16-26. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram/Twitter @PaulsMovieTrip for more coverage, photos, and interviews. I’d love to what movies you’re checking out at the fest!
