Last night’s SAG Awards providing some clarification toward potential Oscar wins. I think it’s pretty safe to say that Leonardo DiCaprio has it in the bag for The Revenant. Brie Larson continues her winning streak for Room after winning the Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards. Alicia Vikander is probably the favorite at this point in the Supporting Actress category. Kate Winslet won the Golden Globe, but the SAGs are usually a better predictor. In Supporting Actor, Sylvester Stallone is the current one to bet on, but he failed to receive a SAG nomination. Idris Elba took home the Actor for his role in Beasts of No Nation. When it comes to Best Picture, it’s anyone’s guess right now as Spotlight is safely back in the running next to The Revenant (Golden Globe winner) or even Mad Max Fury Road. I’m still hoping for a Spotlight win!
