HEARTSTOPPER

Creator: Alice Oseman
Starring: Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Toby Donovan, Olivia Colman

The new Netflix series Hearstopper has been a runaway smash hit with audiences given its inclusive themes and lovable characters. The first season is an eight-episode British rom-com adapted from the graphic novel by Alice Oseman. Oseman also wrote all eight episodes with Euros Lyn directing each one. The series is that darling teen romance centering on Charlie Spring (Locke). He is openly out at school, but that doesn’t stop him from being the butt of jokes and finger pointing. He was happily dating Ben, but Ben’s closeted nature and public girlfriend became an issue for Charlie. Enter fellow classmate, Nick (Connor), a rugby player who is quick to stand up for Charlie after rough confrontation with Ben. This new friendship between Charlie and Nick blooms into a budding romance as Nick starts to understand his authentic self.
