BEVERLY HILLS COP: AXEL F
Director: Mark Molloy
Starring: Eddie Murphy, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Paul Reiser, John Ashton, Bronson Pinchot
Eddie Murphy is the king of sequels, and it feels great to have Axel Foley back on screen again in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. This is the fourth film in the franchise. We last saw the iconci character back in 1994, and the Detroit cop finds himself back in Beverly Hills for more action. He’s always been one to break protocol and play by his own rules even if it means tearing apart the city after a break in at a Detroit Red Wings hockey game. After that debacle, he gets word that his daughter, Jane (Paige), may be in trouble. Jane is a budding attorney working in Beverly Hills who takes on the case of a young man who is on trial for killing a police officer. She believes he’s innocent, but now she becomes a target of the men who want him behind bars. The film marks the return of familiar faces like Judge Reinhold as Billy Rosewood, Paul Reiser as Jeffrey Friedman and welcomes Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the franchise.
