MSPIFF 45 – April 8-19, 2026
It’s a big year for the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF) as they celebrate forty-five years of fantastic programming. They continue to grow a bigger audience and reputation with every passing year. It’s always a pleasure attending as it’s great to feel like a big community enjoying film. MSPIFF continues to challenge its audience with the wide breadth of programming. They are programming a little something for everyone with notable studio films, international films, documentaries, short films, horror films, Minnesota subjects, and films asking important questions and holding a mirror to our current political issues. There will be a wide variety of filmmakers and special guests in attendance along with cocktail lounges for people to retreat to and discuss what they just watched.
This year’s Milgrom Tribute will be awarded to Dean Cundey, the fantastic cinematographer of Halloween, Jurassic Park, Back to Future, and many more classics. There will be a Conversation and Industry Night celebration and Sunday, April 12th with an in-depth Conversation at DeLaSalle High School and then a very special screening of Jurassic Park and an additional Q&A to follow the film.
Here is a list of 20+ movies I’m looking forward to. Note, this is only a fraction of what MSPIFF has to offer this year!
