It’s been twenty years since The Fast and the Furious came out. Since then the franchise has re-ignited itself into a Hollywood juggernaut with no sign of slowing down, even after going to space. Yes, that is what happens in F9. One of the consistent themes of this franchise is that family is everything for Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. F9 is a look at Dom’s backstory taking us back to when he was a kid as he and his brother Jakob worked alongside their father at a racetrack. A tragic event on the tracks forever changed the course of their family separating Dom and Jakob for decades. They come face to face as adults when Jakob, now played by John Cena, wants to get his hands on a cyber tool called Project Aries that could wipe out anything around the world using internet code. It’s up to Dom and the gang plus some old friends and enemies to stop Jakob before he finds Aries and its key to ignite his destruction.
