Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix’s take on the Joker won Phoenix the Oscar. Now, they’ve made a sequel with Joker: Folie a Deux. Along for the ride is Lady Gaga and Brendan Gleeson. I sat down with all four of them to talk about taking this in an unexpected direction, the role of music therapy, and much more. This won’t be the film the fans expect, but that’s the kind of risky endeavor I appreciate from a director.
