Zack Snyder’s zombie film Army of the Dead was a big hit for Netflix early this year. Now we’re getting more from that world with Army of Thieves. This film is a prequel looking back at the character of Dieter played by Matthias Schweighöfer. He’s also the film’s director with Zack Snyder being one of the producers and story writers. Before he was fighting zombies, Dieter went by his real name Sebastian and was a safe cracker uploading amateur videos to YouTube with his secret hacks. His videos get him noticed by famed pick pocket Gwendoline played by Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) She propositions him to join her crew with a mission to open safes created by mastermind Hans Wagner. His safes are infamous, impossible to crack and were inspired by the the composer Wagner’s Ring Cycle. It’s a risky heist taking this small crew from Paris to Prague to Switzerland.
