Oscar winning director James Cameron dazzled audiences with his groundbreaking film Avatar in 2009. Since then, he’s stayed in the world of Pandora as he continues to shape this story. The third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, comes with mixed emotions. James Cameron originally conceived the second film The Way of Water and Fire and Ash as one long film that, but his writing team with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, ultimately decided to split it up after the devastating death of Sully and Neytiri’s son. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return as Sully and Neytiri. Neytiri and her other son Lo’ak (Dalton) are in a deep state of mourning while Sully keeps busy constantly working as a way to process his grief. Neytiri is desperately trying to hold onto her faith, while Sully is having a crisis of faith. They realize adopted son Spider (Champion) is no longer safe hidden amongst the water tribe. They attempt to relocate him only to come under attack from multiple angles. First there’s a tribe known as the Ash people, plundered by a volcanic eruption and led by the vicious Varang (Chaplin). Then, there’s Stephen Lang’s General Quaritch who is now in in full Na’vi form. He’s been the main villain in all three films. His military troops are desperate to capture Spider and use his DNA for their own scientific advancements. In theaters
