COYOTE VS. ACME

Director: Dave Green
Starring: Will Fote, John Cena, Lana Condor, Tone Bell, Luis Guzmán, John Early, Martha Kelly

We haven’t seen the Looney Tunes on the big screen for years, but thank goodness Coyote vs. Acme has been resurrected and is a box office success. It was originally shot years ago and shelved by Warner Bros for a tax write off. There was fan outrage, and then a different studio picked it up and released it. Thank goodness as there’s something vintage and easy about the Looney Tunes humor that is really needed right now. There’s a short prologue about some nefarious action going on at Acme with its head inventor. The story then flashes forward thirty years and picks up in New Mexico with Wile E. Coyote who has spent years trying to capture the Roadrunner. He’s been using Acme products, but none have worked. There’s a fun montage of their adventures together. Back home Wile E. Coyote is feeling down in the dumps and sees a TV commercial with Kevin Avery hawking his services as a lawyer willing to take on the big guys at Acme. Will Forte plays Kevin, he’s the type of lawyer who doesn’t really like being a lawyer and would prefer to settle every case he gets. He now finds himself going up against the biggest corporation in the world and his old friend, Buddy Crane (John Cena), who Acme’s hot shot lawyer.  Kevin and Wile E. Coyote’s only hope may be Bugs Bunny who has some insider Acme knowledge. In theaters
