EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT
Director: Baz Luhrmann
Starring: Elvis Presley
Director Baz Luhrmann brought Elvis Presley back to the big screen with the narrative film Elvis starring Austin Butler. Now he puts you front row for his Vegas residency with the new documentary, EPiC Elvis Presley in Concert. Luhrmann catapults the audience into a frenzy with his usual Baz flourishes thanks to a flashy edit of photos and videos of Elvis’ career. The audio is of Elvis himself talking about how he’s wanting to reclaim his career. He finally wants to tell his side of the story. He loves rock and roll and can’t help but move and jiggle to it. Hollywood’s image of him was wrong and every movie offer that he was sent was more and more of the same. There were no real acting opportunities sent to him. Once his film contracts were up, he could return to the stage. It’s 1969 as he settles in and prepares for his Las Vegas residency at the International Hotel. Baz Luhrmann takes us behind the scenes and then sits us in the audience to be up close and personal with The King. In theaters
