FIRE ISLAND

Director: Andrew Ahn
Starring: Bowen Yang, Joel Kim Booster, Conrad Ricamora, James Scully. Matt Rogers, Tomas Matos, Torian Miller, Margaret Cho, Nick Adams

June marks Pride month for so many in the LGBTQ+ community. Now is the perfect time to amplify queer stories and creators like the new film Fire Island from writer Joel Kim Booster. Booster wrote and stars in the film as Noah who joins his core friend group for their annual pilgrimage to Fire Island. It’s a coveted vacation destination in the gay community to let loose and wholly be yourself at all times. It’s Gay Disney World. Noah’s best friend Howie (Bowen Yang) is hoping for the rom-com life and wants all the tropes that go along with it. Noah realizes the need to make this week count as it may be their last time all together at Fire Island. He sets out to help Noah hook up with Charlie (James Scully), a cute doctor they meet at a local bar. Standing in their way are some of Charlie’s snobby friends who look down upon Noah and Howie. Now streaming on Hulu
