FREAKIER FRIDAY

Director: Nisha Ganatra
Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Chad Michael Murray

The 2003 Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis movie Freaky Friday was a Disney remake of a Jodie Foster movie from 1976. Now 22 years later, we’re getting a legacy sequel to the remake with Freakier Friday. We are living in a golden age of revisiting beloved movies and TV series that take us back to a nostalgic period of our lives. There’s a whole generation that grew up watching Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis star as mother and daughter in a body swap comedy. They are back again as Anna and Tess and we’re about to witness the family expand even more. Lindsay Lohan’s Anna is now a single mom to her teenage daughter, Harper (Julia Butters). Harper is your typical teenager who is racing to school at the last minute and testing her mother’s patience every step of the way. Grandma Tess is there to help at a moment’s notice. Harper continues to get in trouble at school thanks to her classmate, Lily (Sophia Hammons). Lily is a posh, stuck-up British girl who thinks she’s better than everyone else. One day, Anna comes to school and literally bumps into Lily’s dad, Eric (Manny Jacinto). Their meet cute results in them getting engaged six months later. Harper and Lily are current frenemies and now future sisters. The race to the alter is upended after a psychic casts a spell over Anna, Tess, Harper, and Lily. It’s a now a four-person body swap as Harper and Lily try to break up their parent’s engagement. In theaters
