IN A VIOLENT NATURE
Writer/Director: Chris Nash
Starring: Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, Cameron Love, Reece Presley, Liam Lione
Fans of scary movies and slashers are familiar with the trope involving a killer stalking a bunch of twentysomethings in the middle of the woods. The new film In a Violent Nature takes a new angle on that concept. Deep in the middle of the woods, we hear the voices of some guys discussing the legend of the White Pines Slaughter. Is it a tall tale passed on from generation to generation or a real killing spree that happened? One of the men snatches a golden necklace that hangs from the ruins of a fire tower. That immediately awakens the body of a dead man long buried in the woods. His name is Johnny (Barrett) who sets his revenge on these local townies and a new group of twentysomethings that are spending the weekend camping in the woods. In theaters now, streaming on Shudder at a later date.
