KARATE KID LEGENDS

Director: Jonathan Entwistle
Starring: Ben Wang, Sadie Stanley, Joshua Jackson, Ming-Na Wen, Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio

The Karate Kid franchise is still riding high despite the series finale of Cobra Kai. The new movie Karate Kid Legends ties the past to the present with a new Karate Kid story. Jackie Chan first joined the Karate Kid franchise in 2010 with the reboot movie. He’s back as Mr. Han who is running a Kung Fu school in Beijing, China. One of his students is the incredibly gifted Li Fong (Wang). Li’s mother (Wen) forces her son to move to New York City upon her new job offer. Another big reason for the move is for Li to quit his kung fu training and end a cycle of violence that has affected his family. Li settles into his new life and meets one of his classmates, Mia, at a nearby pizza joint that her family owns. She’s played by Sadie Stanley and Joshua Jackson plays her father, Victor. Mia’s ex-boyfriend, Conor, is a renowned karate champion looking to win the local Five Burroughs Championship match while her father, Victor, is a former boxer who now owns back a loan from his fighting days. Li finds himself pulled back into the karate world both going up against Conor while teaching Victor the ways of kung fu. In theaters
