THE GORGE
Director: Scott Derrickson
Starring: Anya Taylor-Joy, Miles Teller, Sigourney Weaver
Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy play a pair of snipers in the new AppleTV+ movie The Gorge. Anya Taylor-Joy opens the film as Drasa, as she fires a long range shot to what appears to be a political adversary. She’s one of two people hired to protect a highly secretive undisclosed area known as the Gorge. Miles Teller plays Levi, a retired Marine Corp vet who is one of the most lauded snipers in his field. He’s brought in for a special assignment by Bartholomew (Weaver) who makes him an incredible offer to protect the Gorge. He accepts not knowing the full extent of what he’s getting himself into. He’s secretly flown into the area and meets the previous sniper on his side of the Gorge. He tends to his post using binoculars and rifles for protection. There he spots Drasa on the other side of the Gorge. They are told not communicate with each other, but she ignores that, and they start talking via white boards and hand-written signs. They’re completely isolated in the middle of nowhere. An unlikely romance blossoms, as they come face to face with the dangers of what’s kept inside The Gorge. Now streaming on AppleTV+
