The new film The Idea of You is a welcome return to the rom-com genre for Anne Hathaway who finds unexpected love in co-star Nicholas Galitzine. Anne Hathaway’s character, Solene, is a 40 year old single mom who is quite comfortable with her current life. Her daughter, Izzy (Ella Rubin), is 16 and hoping to spend the weekend with her friends at a music festival to see the popular boy band, August Moon. Solene finds herself forced to take Izzy to the concert after her ex bails on Izzy. Solene’s plans for the weekend have now changed after a meet cute at the concert. She happens to run into Hayes Campbell who she doesn’t realize is the lead singer of August Moon. Nicholas Galitzine who charmed audiences with the film Red, White & Royal Blue will have them wooing all over again as Hayes. He falls head over heels in love at first sight and decides to track Solene down at her art gallery. From there, it’s a surprising new love affair taking them both off guard.
