THE MONKEY

Director: Osgood Perkins
Starring: Theo James, Tatiano Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Sarah Levy, Elijah Wood, Rohan Campbell

Osgood Perkins had a stellar 2024 with release of his film Longlegs. Now he’s turning to the great Stephen King for his new film The Monkey. Perkins has adapted The Monkey from the short story of the same name from Stephen King’s book “Skeleton Crew”. Theo James plays the dual role of Bill and Hal, twins who have a complicated and tragic family history. He narrates the film as Hal who describes how his childhood was filled with horrific deaths thanks to an organ monkey toy that came with the slogan “Turn the key and see what happens.” They were raised by their mother, Lois (Maslany), after their father left the family. As young boys, Hal and Bill didn’t get along, but they decided to bury the organ monkey down a deep well hoping that would end the madness. Now as adults, it’s been years since they’ve seen each other living separate lives until tragedy strikes again. That supernatural organ monkey makes its return causing more chaos. In theaters
