THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW

Director: Joe Wright
Starring: Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Wyatt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie

Amy Adams’ new film The Woman in the Window was shot three years ago. It’s long been delayed but will be streaming on Netflix May 14. She plays Anna who suffers from severe agoraphobia and hasn’t left her posh New York City brownstone in over ten months. This is pre-pandemic before we were used to that lifestyle. Despite being a psychologist herself, she suffers from severe anxiety and panic attacks from past trauma. New neighbors move in across the street, and Anna decides to let Jane (Julianne Moore) and her son stop over. She starts to feel comfortable around them until one night she sees Jane stabbed to death by her husband, played by Gary Oldman. Anna is adamant about what she saw despite what the police detectives say, despite what Jane’s husband says, and more oddities that don’t add up.
