DEADPOOL
Director: Tim Miller
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Bacarin, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Leslie Uggams
We first laid eyes upon Wade Wilson aka Deadpool when Ryan Reynolds played him in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was a small part in a baaaad movie. Rumors had been circulating since then that Reynolds would get his own Deadpool movie. The time has come and the trailer for the new standalone Deadpool movie is here. It’s been highly anticipated since it premiered at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. The buzz was huge and it received a massive applause from the fans due to its tone and carnage. Carnage? Yes! This is not your typical Marvel film where you can bring the little kids. In the red band trailer below, you can make out some Quentin Tarantino style blood splatter going on. The film also has a twisted sense of humor about it. It’s clear that Reynolds is even mocking his previous stint as the Green Lantern at one point during the trailer. Reynolds has been in a bit of a slump lately so hopefully this will bring him back in a good way.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
