CALLING ALL HORROR FANS! Freddy Krueger is coming for you in a new 7-film 4K box set. 2024 marked the release of the original film on 4K to celebrate its 40th anniversary, and now all seven films (excluding the remake and Freddy vs Jason) are together in a fantastic new set. Wes Craven set his original film film in an idyllic town where its residents have purposefully let its town history stay in the past burying the real story of what happened decades prior. Teen girls Tina (Amanda Wyss) and Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) trade stories one day going to school about the nightmares they started having. They involve a scary man with burn scars over his face with knives for fingers. Soon the nightmares become reality when Freddy Krueger appears brutally killing Nancy’s friends while they sleep. But how do you explain that? Nancy has a hard time getting anyone to believe her theories about Freddy and desperately tries to stay awake at all costs. The films also stars Ron Saxon, Ronee Blakley and Johnny Depp.
The franchise concluded with the return of Wes Craven and Heather Langenkamp who joined Robert Englund for Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. That was a thrilling meta film that was ahead of its time where all three of them played themselves as they were prepping to film a new Elm Street movie when Freddy Krueger breaks through into their nightmares.
