STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES
September 8, 2026 was declared Star Trek Day as it officially marked the 60th anniversary of the iconic and groundbreaking television series. Gene Roddenberry’s epic series Star Trek has become a beacon in the genre for its themes of collaboration, diveristy, inclusion, and acceptance. There’s a reason why we keep coming back to this universe time and time again as different movies and television series have brought us back to this universe to “boldly go where no man has gone before.”
Star Trek premiered on September 8, 1966 and ran until June 3, 1969. It consisted of 79 episodes across three seasons and would spawn a film franchise with the original cast years later. Paramount+ has multiple new Star Trek series on its streaming platform including Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which picks up with the younger versions of our favorite characters like Spock, Kirk, Uhura, Scotty and more as it leads up to where the Original Series started.
Paramount Home Entertainment and Alliance Home Entertainment have released The Original Series on Blu-Ray to celebrate its 60th anniversary with the new Star Trek 60 logo on there.
