Paul Visits SCREAM Filming Locations
Back in 2022, I was on vacation in Wine Country in California. It was incredible touring Coppola Winery as well as other tasty vineyards. Scream fans may remember the original film was filmed in and around the Santa Rosa area of California, which is in the heart of Wine Country. I could not pass up the opportunity to find some iconic filming locations. Yes, I even went to Stu’s house. It’s wild to see how these now iconic sites have changed in the decades that have passed since they shot that original film.
Randy’s Video Store – The video store no longer exists, and now it’s just an empty store front. “Everybody is a suspect!”

Tatum Riley’s Porch – another private residence, but you can at least drive up to it. “Don’t go there, Sid, you’re starting to sound like some Wes Carpenter flick.”

The fountain where they discuss Casey and Steve’s murder. – It’s easy to access, as it’s public property. “You better liver alone. LIVER ALONE.”

STU’S HOUSE – aka Mecca – It’s a private residence, and I had to get special permission from Ann at Spring Hill Estates to tour the outside of the home. The owner was home, so I didn’t want to disturb him or go inside. There are some organized tours that happen at various points of the year, but I was there on the “off season” and not part of any official tour group. “Please, Mr. Ghostface, I want to be in the sequel!”

Stu’s house is breathtaking to see in person. It sits at the top of a hill, and you have to reorient yourself when you think about the geography of how its laid out in the movie. It was great to see the whole back side of the house and see the infamous garage where Tatum meets Ghostface. They no longer have the doggie door. It’s worth noting they didn’t film Scream (2022) here, as they rebuilt it on a sound stage.
I looked into the location of Sidney Prescott’s house, but it’s another private residence tucked away in a gated community.
Hope you enjoyed these fun photos and look back at Scream! I have more reviews, interviews, articles, and trailers for the Scream franchise on my website and YouTube channel, just search Paul’s Trip to the Movies.
