SCARY MOVIE DOUBLE FEATURE
Scary Movie was the massively successful horror movie spoof from the Wayans family that came out in 2000! My friend Jenny and I laughed hysterically when we saw it in theaters. It launched the careers of Anna Faris and Regina Hall as it spoofed all of the scary movies that came out in the late 1990s like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Sixth Sense, The Blair Witch Project and more. It even comes with Carmen Electra spoofing the Drew Barrymore opening of Scream. The Wayans created a new take on movies like Airplane, Spaceballs, and The Naked Gun.
Paramount Home Entertainment has now released Scary Movie on a 4K SteelBook that also comes with a Blu-Ray and Digital copy of the film

SCARY MOVIE (2026)
Reboots, remakes, and requels are the rage right now in the horror genre as legacy actors are coming back decades later to play their fan-favorite characters. That can only mean one thing, and the Wayans Family also decided to hop on the trend and make a reboot of Scary Movie, aptly titled Scary Movie much like we saw with Halloween (2018), Scream (2022), and I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025).
Scary Movie (2026) saw the return of Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Cheri Oteri, Dave Sheridan and more to their original characters. Plus, there’s a whole new cast that play the high school characters including Olivia Rose Keegan as Sara, Cindy’s daughter. This time around, The Wayanses are spoofing movies like Weapons, Longlegs, Sinners, Scream (2022), Scream VI, Halloween (2018), and more.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the new Scary Movie does not work. There was something about the humor and jokes that felt so dated and cringeworthy. There are plenty of deep cut references to current scary movies, which also means you need to stay caught up if you’re going to understand what they were spoofing. There was barely a story here and it just felt like a bunch of loose threads trying to squeeze in reasons to bring back a bunch of previous cast members from the franchise. Regina Hall is always hilarious as Brenda, but even she couldn’t save this movie.
