I always love seeing the nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards as it demonstrates actors and other artists in the SAG guild nominating their own peers for their work. It makes the awards a little different than the Golden Globes or Critics Choice Awards. It’s also a good indicator of who may walk home with an Oscar as there are crossover members in both organizations. Some noteworthy callouts this year include Adam Sandler garnering a nomination for his work in Netflix’s Hustle. This is his first SAG nomination in his career. Michelle Williams was notably missing from the Best Actress lineup after receiving Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations for her work in The Fabelmans. It’s a massively stacked category, and Williams should have been submitted in the Supporting Actress category this year. She did receive a nomination as part of the ensemble of the film. Everything Everywhere All At Once scored five nominations for Best Ensemble, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), and two for Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu).
Tune In February 26th, 2023 to see who takes home The Actor.
