CRYSTAL LAKE

Creator: Brad Caleb Kane
Starring: Linda Cardellini, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, William Catlett, Devin Kressler, Hamish Linklater, Cameron Scoggins

The movie Scream reminded audiences that it was Jason’s mother, Mrs. Vorhees, who was the killer in the first Friday the 13th movie. The new series Crystal Lake look back at Pamela Vorhees and tells her side of what made a protective mother full of revenge. Betsy Palmer left an impression with her reveal in Friday the 13th and now Emmy winner Linda Cardellini steps into her shoes and powder blue sweater as Pamela Vorhees. She works in the kitchen at Camp Crystal Lake as she tries to survive living as a single mom with her young son, Jason. Jason was born with a physical deformity with his head, so he is relentlessly teased and mocked. Jason goes to Camp Crystal Lake so Pam can keep an eye on him. The series includes his death by drowning in the first episode which is the catalyst for her revenge. She believes his body is still in the lake even though they can’t find it. Time passes, but Pam goes in a downward spiral with the news that Camp Crystal Lake will re-open. There’s a mysterious presence in the woods brutally killing the local townies and camp counselors. Meanwhile, Pam takes on a maternal role again trying to protect a young girl named Grace (Sundstrom), and she makes friends with local police Chief Levon Brooks (Catlett) who is trying to solve the murders. Now streaming on Peacock
