Your favorite soccer coach is back as Ted Lasso has returned for a fourth season on AppleTV. When we last left off, star and creator Jason Sudeikis was adamant that the series would end after three years. It was too big of a fan favorite to say goodbye that quickly. We saw his character, Ted Lasso, move back to America to be with his son. Now he’s working at a grocery store in Kansas City, and you can feel the melancholy in Ted’s disposition. There’s his cheerful exterior but something’s missing. That changes when his old friends: Rebecca (Waddingham), Keely (Temple), and Higgins (Swift) show up knocking on his door. In true Godfather fashion, they pull him back in with an offer he can’t refuse. Rebecca offers Ted a job to coach the new women’s soccer team at AFC Richmond. You get the sense Ted has missed London, missed coaching, and missed his friends even if he won’t admit this out loud. He convinces his son and ex-wife to move to London with him so he can get back to coaching. Brendan Hunt is back as assistant coach Beard. Alongside Ted and Beard is assistant coach Alice Chilton (Tanya Reynolds). Chilton is about as prickly as you can get begrudgingly frustrated that she wasn’t made head coach of the Lady Greyhounds. And yes, Brett Goldstein is back as the foul-mouthed Roy Kent who is now head coach of the men’s team. Now on AppleTV
