THE CROWN Season 3

Creator: Peter Morgan
Starring: Olivia Colman, Helen Bonham Carter, Tobias Menzies, Josh O’Connor, Charles Dance, Jason Watkins

The third season of The Crown picks up in 1964 and covers Queen Elizabeth’s reign through 1977. This is shortly after Season 2, but we welcome a cast change. Olivia Coleman takes over for Claire Foy as the Queen along with Helena Bonham Carter now playing Princess Margaret and more. Queen Elizabeth can’t seem to catch a break, and the monarchy hangs in the balance of any decision she is forced to make to keep Great Britain going. She deals with the death of Prime Minister Churchill while staying close and defending current Prime Minister Wilson while others are looking to overthrow him with a coup. She has to answer for her sister, Princess Margaret, and her unorthodox ways. When it comes to her own immediate family, the choices made for them are not necessarily what’s in their best interest, but what’s in the best interest for the face of the country and monarchy.

It’s now streaming on Netflix. Here’s my review
