THE OFFER

Creator: Michael Tolkin
Starring: Matthew Goode, Miles Teller, Patrick Gallo, Dan Fogler, Juno Temple, Colin Hanks, Giovanni Ribisi, Burn Gorman, Nora Arnezeder

The Godfather is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and film lovers of all ages continue to dissect the Oscar-winning masterpiece. Now, it’s getting the limited series treatment as The Offer has started streaming on Paramount+ Matthew Goode draws you in instantly with his performance as Paramount Studios head Robert Evans. The studio needs another hit badly if it wants to survive. Miles Teller stars as Albert S. Ruddy, an up-and-coming young Hollywood producer who knows he eventually wants to work in movies instead of producing season after season of Hogan’s Heroes. It’s their grit and forceful nature that steers them toward the film adaptation of Mario Puzo’s book The Godfather. Ruddy convinces Puzo (Gallo) to write the screenplay with director Francis Ford Coppola (Fogler). If you thought the story ended there, guess again, as the New York mafia scene along with Frank Sinatra are actively trying to shut down production.
