Netflix hit gold with their true crime docu-series. Making a Murderer, The Staircase, and The Keepers have all become cultural obsessions. I’ve watched quite a few, but none as truly head scratching and beyond comprehension than Tiger King. I had never heard of Joe Exotic until watching this series, and maybe that’s because I’m not familiar with the big cat scene in the south. Joe Exotic is a gun-toting, flamboyant guy with a mullet who runs a tiger zoo. He is now serving time in Grady County Jail for the murder for hire plot of Carole Baskin, an animal rights advocate as she claims who also runs her own big cat rescue. Tigers and murder for hire. What more could you ask for?
