X-MEN ’97 Season Two
Executive Producer: Julia Lewald
Starring: Ray Chase, Cal Dodd, Ross Marquand, Jennifer Hale, Holly Chou, Alison Sealy-Smith, George Buza
One of the best Marvel Disney+ series is X-Men ‘97. The nostalgic-filled series is back for a thrilling second season. Most animated movies and series have come a long way since the hand-drawn 2D days when I was growing up. I grew up obsessed with the original X-Men animated series. Marvel has gone back to that classic style for X-Men ‘97 and Season 2 kicks off with a jolt and does not waste any time. It picks up right where the first season ended with the X-Men split off into two different time streams. This all comes after Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters has been left in ruins. Cyclops and Jean Grey have been sent to the future in 3960 with their son, Nathan, who might be the sole prophet to destroy series villain, Apocalypse. Other characters like Charles Xavier, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Rogue have been sent back to 3000 BCE Egypt. In present day 1997 Cable has recruited Jubilee and newcomers Psylocke, Archangel, and Sunspot and forms the X-Factor. All of these characters are attempting to stop Apocalypse at different points of his life whether its going back to the far distant past in an act of prevention and to the future after he’s gained his all-encompassing powers and to the present. Now streaming on Disney+
