THE DRAMA
Director: Kristoffer Borgli
Starring: Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, Damon Gupton, Zoë Winters
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are starring in three films together in 2026 with The Odyssey and Dune Part 3 coming out later this year. Up first is the intimate portrayal of a fractured relationship in The Drama. Writer/director Kristoffer Borgli shies away from your typical meet-cute but does find Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson) meeting at a coffee shop. She’s alone reading a book, and he awkwardly tries to introduce himself. This is actually a memory recall as Charlie is detailing how they met to his friend, Mike (Athie), as he’s prepping his wedding speech to Emma. We get insight into their unique relationship up until present day as we are now days away from their wedding. Mike’s wife, Rachel (Alana Haim), joins him, Charlie and Emma for some last minute food and wine tastings. They get a bit drunk and decide to play a game where they state the worst thing they ever did. Their responses are fairly safe until Emma opens up about her past that literally leaves them shocked, disturbed, and questioning their friendship. Charlie is left wondering what this means for their upcoming wedding. Now available to rent/own.
