FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S

Director: Emma Tammi
Starring: Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lail

Five Nights at Freddy’s is the latest horror release from Blumhouse Productions as they seek to please video game fans with their big screen adaptation. Freddy Fazbear’s is a classic family pizza place, much like Chuck E. Cheese where you play arcade games, eat pizza, and watch an animatronic animal band perform on stage. Freddy’s has been closed down for years, but its owner doesn’t want the place demolished, so he hires a nightly security person to ensure its not being vandalized. Josh Hutcherson stars as Mike Schmidt, a former mall security guard who takes on a new job of working at Freddy’s. He’s desperate for work as he’s the sole caretaker of his younger sister, Abby (Piper Rubio). Their aunt Jane (Mary Stuart Masterson) doesn’t believe Mike is fit to care for Abby due to his temper and PTSD. As a kid, Mike watched as his younger brother was kidnapped and that memory still haunts him to this day. Shortly after Mike gets hired, strange occurrences start happening at Freddy’s. Is it haunted? Is Mike’s mind playing tricks on him? Or does the animatronic band actually come to life ready to kill anyone in sight? Now in theaters and streaming on Peacock
