IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK

Director: Barry Jenkins
Starring: Kiki Layne, Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Ed Skrein, Finn Wittrock, Diego Luna

Oscar winning director Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) is back with another powerful film with If Beale Street Could Talk based on the book by James Baldwin. It stars KiKi Layne and Stephan James as Tish and Fonny, respectively. They are childhood friends who love each other and are expecting their first child. Tish now has to prove Fonny’s innocence after he’s accused of raping a Puerto Rican woman. Her parents (King, Domingo) are excited for their new grandchild and will stop at nothing to prove his innocence. The same can’t be said for Fonny’s mother.
