That being said, now is the perfect time to invest in Black filmmakers who strive to create art, not only as entertainment but as a lens on Black culture and Black history. THE 89th ACADEMY AWARDS – THE NOMINATIONS Here we go! This year’s Oscar nominations were announced this morning, and no one was surprised to hear La La Land lead the pack.
