THE LAST SHOWGIRL
Director: Gia Coppola
Starring: Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd
Pamela Anderson gives the best performance of her career as the title role in The Last Showgirl. Anderson plays Shelly, a long running cast member of a Las Vegas showgirl revue called “Razzle Dazzle”. Her friend, Annette (Curtis), now works as a cocktail waitress as she left the show years ago. Shelly’s other friends include Kiernan Shipka’s Jodie and Brenda Song’s Mary-Anne who are two of the younger cast mates in “Razzle Dazzle”. Shelly loves her job as a dancer and sees the importance in her work. This is the only life she knows when she receives word that “Razzle Dazzle” will be closing after a 38-year run. It’s the end of an era, and the end of Shelly’s career. She doesn’t know what to do with herself while her younger cast mates know they can dance and audition for other Vegas revues. In theaters
