The 26th CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS – THE NOMINATIONS

The 26th CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS – THE NOMINATIONS As a voting member of the Critics’ Choice Association, it’s always an exciting time when we get to announce our nominations. David Fincher’s Mank leads the pack with 12 nominations. Minari quickly followed behind with an impressive 10 nominations. I was thrilled to see Delroy Lindo land a Best Actor nomination for Da 5 Bloods, and Paul Raci make the list for Best Supporting Actor for Sound of Metal. Both Lindo and Raci have been absent from the Golden Globes and SAG nominations. PAUL’S TOP 10 of 2020

PAUL’S TOP 10 of 2020 It’s a weird year to be compiling a best of 2020 list. With awards season being delayed many of the buzzworthy 2020 movies were released in a very limited capacity at film festivals and are now held for wider release until closer to voting dates in February and March. They’re still considered 2020 movies but will be released in 2021. I haven’t received all of my FYC screeners yet, so I haven’t seen certain movies like The Father, French Exit, or Nomadland yet. Without further adieu, here is my Top 10 of 2020Read More →

Movie Review: THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7

THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 Writer/Director: Aaron SorkinStarring: Eddie Redmayne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mark Rylance, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Strong, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Frank Langella, John Carroll Lynch Aaron Sorkin is best known for high-powered courtroom dramas and politically charged stories like A Few Good Men, The West Wing, and The Newsroom. A legal battle between peaceful protestors and an aggressive Chicago police force is what is at stake. No, it’s not 2020 but rather the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The peaceful protestorsRead More →
