It should come as no surprise that the actors from Oppenheimer, Barbie, and The Holdovers received a flurry of nominations. They’ve been leading the charge this award season. Smaller films like American Fiction and Nyad received noteworthy nominations for their actors. I am pleasantly surprised and elated to see Annette Bening receive a nomination for Nyad given she’s been a dark horse this season. Notably missing from this line up are actors from May December (Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, Charles Melton), Past Lives (Greta Lee), or The Iron Claw (Zac Efron) who have all received buzz this seaosn but came up short here. Who do I think will win? I don’t want to give my predictions quite yet. I’ll let this simmer over the next month and a half and report back soon! Follow me on TikTok (@PAULSMOVIETRIP) as I’ll probably due a video for all my predictions.
Stay tuned as the The 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live on Netflix on Saturday, February 24.
