MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING

One of the biggest movies of the year is now out on 4K, Blu-Ray, and digital to add to your collection. Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie pulled out all the stops for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Paramount Home Entertainment and Alliance Entertainment have an exciting release for fans. I loved seeing every Mission film on the BIG screen, and some of my favorite movie going experiences have been with this franchise and the depths Cruise and his creative teams have put into these films.

Tom Cruise has been wowing audiences with the Mission Impossible franchise for almost thirty years. It all comes down to this as Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning ends on a high note. The Final Reckoning picks up months after the events of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. The AI program known as The Entity has spread across the world leading to paranoia, destruction, and even doomsday cult fanatics. The Entity has grown greater than anyone could imagine to the point where it could destroy the world. Esai Morales is back as Gabriel the man behind all the chaos who is hoping to lure and trap Ethan Hunt and his team before they can find the source code that would deactivate The Entity. Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Hayley Atwell are all back as members of Ethan’s IMF team.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was a stunning culmination of this eight-film franchise. It was great to feel like Cruise and McQuarrie went back to the first film and treat this as a continuation of Ethan Hunt has been through going back to the storyline of the first and seventh films. There were some surprises and the jaw-dropping stunts that fans of come to expect. McQuarrie wastes no time in pulling the audience in for a wild ride that was a race against the clock in a story line that felt all too real in this age of AI. It was one thrilling set piece after another, and I truly wondered how Ethan Hunt was going to come out alive by the end. You truly feel like McQ and Cruise thought of the ultimate test and worked backward in how to pull it off. It ends with a surprisingly emotion moment that I didn’t expect, but greatly admired.
