Movie Review: BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER

BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Director: Ryan CooglerStarring: Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Danai Guria, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Tenoch Huerta, Michaela Coel, Richard Schiff, Dominique Thorne Director Ryan Coogler has done it again. It may have seemed next to impossible to do a sequel to Black Panther without Chadwick Boseman, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever one of the best Marvel movies to date. Coogler opens his film in the only way possible, we find Letitia Wright’s Shuri desperately trying to save T’Challa’s life but is unsuccessful. What transcends is a private ceremony for the fallen king with a grand processional in Wakanda. One yearRead More →

FALL MOVIE PREVIEW

FALL MOVIE PREVIEW I shared my Fall Movie Preview on this week’s episode of Twin Cities Live on KSTP. While I would have ranked The Fabelmans as my #1 most anticipated movie, I had a hard time ranking the others and decided on chronological order. Plus, due to the time limitations, I only chose five movies. Here’s my segment with a look at: Hocus Pocus 2 (September 30) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11) The Fabelmans (November 23) Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (December 23) Babylon (December 25)Read More →

PAUL’S TOP 5 MARVEL FILMS

PAUL’S TOP 5 MARVEL FILMS We are but days away from Avengers: Endgame. It’s the end of the road, so it seems, for many of our favorite Avengers characters as Marvel wraps up The Infinity Saga. The film is already shattering pre-sale records and may just be the highest grossing film of the year. I say that knowing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes in December. The Marvel films strike us all in different ways depending on the characters, worlds, and creatures we dig the most over these 21 movies. Here is a countdown of my Top 5 Marvel films with my original reviewsRead More →

AND THE OSCAR FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG GOES TO…

AND THE OSCAR FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG GOES TO… Every year I like to showcase the five Oscar-nominated songs all hoping to win the coveted Academy Award. It’s not every year that we get a plethora of fantastic music with many songs being left off the nominations list. When the nominations were announced, I was surprised that Troye Sivan’s “Revelation” from Boy Erased, “The Girl in the Movies” by Dolly Parton for Dumplin’ and Celine Dion’s “Ashes” from Deadpool 2 weren’t among the songs nominated. We also had films like A Star is Born, Black Panther, and Mary Poppins Returns which featured multiple songs vyingRead More →

TOP 10 MOVIES OF 2018

TOP 10 MOVIES OF 2018 It’s that time of the year again where I look back at the best films of the year. If you’ve been following along with my trip to the movies, you may remember that I switched to doing more video reviews instead of written reviews. I decided to take that form with my Top 10 this year. It’s been an incredible year of opportunities as I’ve been able to participate in more press junkets interviewing some of my idols like Whoopi Goldberg and Diane Keaton and many more to moderating a sold-out Q&A with Timothée Chalamet and Nic Sheff for theirRead More →

Movie Review: BLACK PANTHER

BLACK PANTHER Director: Ryan Coogler Starring: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Sterling K. Brown, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker We were first introduced to Black Panther, played exceptionally well by Chadwick Boseman, in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel has now given the character his own standalone film to build on his backstory and legacy. As we saw in the previous movie, T’Challa/Black Panther’s father was killed at the United Nations explosion. T’Challa is now the rightful heir to the throne taking his place as the new king of the African nation, Wakanda. He’s inRead More →
