Ben Affleck is back and proves his strengths as an actor. He plays Jack Cunningham who was once an all-star basketball player in school, but adulthood took him down a different path. He’s now an alcoholic and separated from his wife. He gets the opportunity to coach basketball at his alma matter, a Catholic high school with a losing team. They are scrappy underdogs, and Jack may be their best bet at actually winning a game, let alone the playoffs. Coaching may give Jack the drive to put the bottle down and get his life back together.
