RICKY STANICKY

Director: Peter Farrelly
Starring: Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, William H. Macy, Lex Scott Davis, Anja, Savcic, Daniel Monks

Let me be blunt. The new film Ricky Stanicky is a huge waste of John Cena and Zac Efron’s time and talents. It’s a head scratcher knowing they’re both far better than this film. Ricky Stanicky opens with three friends leaving a flaming bag of poo on the neighbor’s steps on Halloween. It ends in a house fire and the friends leave behind an article of clothing with the fake name of “Ricky Stanicky” hoping they won’t get caught. Cut to them now as adults. There’s Zac Efron’s Dean, TJ played by Andrew Santino, and Wes whose played by Jermaine Fowler. They still use their fake best friend Ricky Stanicky to get out of a jam, including TJ’s baby shower when they’d rather have a boys weekend away at a concert. It’s there in a bar when they meet John Cena’s character Rock Hard Rod, an aspiring actor and spoof songwriter. He’s like an X-rated Weird Al Yankovic. One thing leads to another, and the boys end up hiring Rock Hard Rod to pose as their best friend Ricky Stanicky when their families want to meet him at TJ’s son’s bris.
