Take-Up Productions Presents: JOAN VS BETTE

The fine folks over at Take-Up Productions have fantastic programming coming up this summer. You may recall how I spotlight their Hitchcock Festival every year. They are partnering with the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights for their Trylon Roadshow devotion to two of the biggest divas and legendary actresses of the silver screen, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Each actress will have two films shown and it culminates with their one and only on-screen pairing in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

Here’s the lineup

DARK VICTORY (1939) – Bette
Thursday May 29 7:30
35mm presentation

DANCING LADY (1933) – Joan
Thursday June 2 7:30
35mm presentation

ALL ABOUT EVE (1950) – Bette
Thursday, June 9 7:30
35mm presentation
A personal favorite of mine. My husband and I named our dog after Bette’s character Margo Channing.

THE DAMNED DON’T CRY (1950) – Joan
Thursday, June 16 7:30
DCP presentation

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? (1962) – Bette VS Joan Showdown!
Thursday, June 23 7:30
35mm presentation

Tickets $8.00
*I recommend getting the punch card for $25. It’s good for five tickets and can be used for any Take-Up screening throughout the year.

All films screening at the Heights Theater
3951 Central Ave NE
Minneapolis, MN 55421

I can’t recommend this series enough! There’s nothing like sitting down with a bag of popcorn in an old vintage arthouse watching a black and white classic.
