THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME

Director: Antonio Campos
Starring: Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgård, Eliza Scanlen, Sebastian Stan, Jason Clarke, Riley Keough, Mia Wasikowska, Haley Bennett

One of the best aspects of having a new movie streaming on Netflix is the ability to rewatch a head-scratcher and dissect it whenever you want. You may feel a need to do that with The Devil All the Time. It’s a multi-generational ensemble film featuring Tom Holland at its center. He stars as Arvin Russell who grew up an orphan after the tragic deaths of his parents. His dad (Bill Skarsgaard) was a WWII vet whose PTSD and reformed religious beliefs lead to Arvin’s complicated upbringing. The film also stars Eliza Scanlen as Arvin’s stepsister, Robert Pattison as a traveling preacher Arvin crosses paths with, and Sebastian Stan as the crooked town sheriff. Now streaming on Netflix.
