A HAUNTING IN VENICE
Director: Kenneth Branagh
Starring: Kenneth Branagh, Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Kelly Reilly, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill, Riccardo Scamarcio, Camille Cottin
Third time’s the charm for director Kenneth Branagh and his work adapting Agatha Christie’s murder mysteries. A Haunting in Venice is based on her story “Hallowe’en Party.” Branagh is back on the case as Agatha Christie’s renowned detective, Hercule Poirot. He’s desperately trying to enjoy retirement in Venice when he’s cornered by American mystery author Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey) to prove that renowned medium Mrs. Reynolds (Michelle Yeoh) is a hoax. All three find themselves at a Halloween Party at a lavish palazzo owned by Kelly Reilly’s character, Rowena Drake, who is hoping to reconnect with her dead daughter. Before the night is over, one of the party guests is murdered forcing Hercule Poirot out of retirement for another spooky case. In theaters
